Adiabatic and overall film cooling effectiveness, vortex structures, and aerodynamics loss were comprehensively assessed. The results demonstrate that the novel slot hole significantly improves the overall film cooling effectiveness under thin wall conditions by enhancing the attachment of kidney vortices to walls.
